Going, Going, Gone

13 inch Platter in Raspberry, available in 14 glazes

Summer used to be longer when we were young. Not just because time goes faster when we are older but because it was truly several weeks longer. We had at least 12 weeks of sweet, sweet, freedom, filled with street baseball (the sewer cover was always home plate) bike riding (riding without hands and keeping an eye out for empty soda bottles) swimming (we had the built-in pool, ensuring popularity) hide and seek in the dark, using the whole block as a playing field(we spent the daylight hours scoping out hiding places) and family camping trips (returning home bug bitten and sun burned but so happy to have visited our beloved High Sierras).

As adults our summers consist of work, relaxation, and food that brings back memories. (Watermelon served up on a platter, barbecued steaks on our generously sized dinner plates, homegrown raspberries on ice cream in our bowls). And when it’s too hot to go out, popcorn in a 9” inch bowl and a favorite movie (Young Frankenstein last week and Harold and Maude this week)

Love, Peace, and wishes for your best summer ever.

Barry and Terri
